In 2025, U.S. natural gas pipeline projects increased capacity by approximately 6.3 Bcf/d, with 85% directed to the South Central region. Intrastate pipelines made up 65% of the new capacity, primarily as gathering systems. Key projects include the Louisiana Energy Gateway and New Generation Gas Gathering systems, connecting the Haynesville formation to the Gillis Hub, and several projects delivering to Gulf Coast demand centers.

Natural gas pipeline projects in the U.S. in 2025 added about 6.3 Bcf/d of capacity, with 85% allocated to the South Central region. The majority of new capacity, 65%, came from intrastate pipelines, which are not regulated by the FERC.
Significant projects include the Louisiana Energy Gateway and New Generation Gas Gathering system, which together contributed 3.5 Bcf/d to connect the Haynesville formation to the Gillis Hub. Additionally, the Evangeline Pass Expansion and East Lateral Xpress projects provided 1.4 Bcf/d directly to Plaquemines LNG, which began shipping in 2025.
