US Navy Advances Defense Unicorns to Operational Trials for Software Platform

The US Navy has advanced Defense Unicorns to the operational evaluation phase of its Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic rapid-capabilities program. This phase will include testing the company's software platform in real naval environments, assessing its deployment, management, and maintenance capabilities, particularly in air-gapped and disconnected networks.

The evaluations will focus on performance, reliability, and scalability. This selection follows a successful prototype under the Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services Next Generation program, where the Unified Defense Stack (UDS) was demonstrated.

UDS is tailored for environments without internet connectivity and features two components: UDS Enterprise for standardized software management and UDS Fleet for cross-ship infrastructure management. The outcomes of these trials are critical for informed long-term fleet decisions.
