U.S. Navy Awards Sikorsky $21.6 Million for VH-92A Engine Torque Testing
The U.S. Navy awarded Sikorsky Aircraft a $21.6 million order on January 13 for transient engine torque test and certification work for the VH-92A Patriot fleet. This order, issued under an existing agreement, supports modifications as the aircraft enters full operational service.
The work will ensure compliance with operational requirements and is managed by Naval Air Systems Command based in Patuxent River, Maryland. Tasks will be carried out at multiple U.S. locations, with completion expected by July 2027.
The order follows a separate $113.5 million contract modification awarded on December 16, 2025, for long-term support of the VH-92A, which replaces older executive transport helicopters. The new order focuses on validating engine performance and mission configuration changes essential for safe operation during demanding flight profiles.
