NAVAIR announced the completion of the final flight test of the Harpoon Block II Update (HIIU) on January 16, 2026, at Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, California. The test involved the F-15SA aircraft, verifying its effectiveness against land targets.
The HIIU program began in 2025 and included three tests, with the final test confirming target engagement capabilities. The Harpoon Block II incorporates advanced GPS/INS for improved navigation and target guidance.
Initial deliveries of the updated missile system are planned for later in 2026. The F-15SA is used by Saudi Arabia, which is distinct from the U.S. Air Force's F-15E fleet.
