US Navy Food Shortages Reported Amid Iran Deployment
Concerns are rising over food shortages for US sailors deployed near Iran, with personnel reporting inadequate meals. The situation is exacerbated by the suspension of postal deliveries, limiting families’ ability to send supplies.

US sailors aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln and USS Tripoli report severe food shortages amid heightened tensions near Iran. Personnel have described meals consisting of minimal portions, such as one tortilla or boiled carrots, raising alarms about crew morale and operational readiness.
The indefinite suspension of postal deliveries due to logistical challenges has complicated supply chains, preventing families from sending essential items to service members. Reports indicate that some sailors are rationing their food, with some families attempting to send packages valued at $2,000, which have not reached their destinations. The USS Gerald Ford, also deployed in the region, faced operational challenges including a fire and previous issues with sanitation, raising further concerns about the welfare of sailors in the area.
