U.S. Navy Issues RFP for Vessel Construction Manager for Medium Landing Ships
On February 17, the U.S. Navy issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a private Vessel Construction Manager (VCM) to oversee the acquisition of Medium Landing Ships (LSMs). The vessels will be built at Bollinger Shipyards and Fincantieri Marinette Marine. This strategy aims to enhance delivery speed, improve cost management, and expand the U.S. shipbuilding industrial base, with a contract expected to be awarded in mid-2026.
