U.S. Navy Requests Information for Over-the-Horizon Sensor Development

DEFENSE

On January 5, the U.S. Navy issued a request for information (RFI) for an Over-the-Horizon Sensor (OTH-S) on behalf of the Program Executive Officer Land Systems (PEO LS) Program Manager Intelligence and Cyberspace Operations (PM ICO).

Responses are required by 10:00 a.m. Eastern on January 26. PM ICO oversees the Terrestrial Collection Systems (TCS) program, which includes Ground Sensors and Maritime Sensors.

The OTH-S aims to enhance Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) by detecting adversary surface targets at extended ranges, supporting the Marine Corps' Stand in Force (SiF) mission. This capability will operate independently of national and theater assets and is designed for all-weather conditions. PM ICO is conducting market research to inform future OTH-S development.
