US Navy Unveils BBG(X) Trump-Class Battleships at SNA 2026 Panel
At the SNA 2026 panel, U.S. Navy officials introduced the BBG(X) Trump-Class Battleships, set to replace retiring Ticonderoga-Class Cruisers. The new vessels will feature advanced capabilities, including 128 MK-41 VLS cells, 12 Conventional Prompt Strike missiles, and a 32 Megajoule Railgun, with plans to construct 15-25 units through collaboration with various vendors and potential foreign partners.

At SNA 2026, Naval Sea Systems Command's Chris Miller and U.S. Navy officials discussed the BBG(X) Trump-Class Battleships, designed to enhance command capabilities as Ticonderoga-Class Cruisers are retired.
The BBG(X) will have 128 MK-41 VLS cells, 12 Conventional Prompt Strike missiles, 2 lasers, and a 32 Megajoule Railgun. The vessel will measure ~860 ft in length and ~110 ft in beam, with a maximum speed of 30 knots.
The Navy aims to construct 15-25 vessels through a collaborative effort involving multiple vendors and possibly foreign partners. The design requirements evolved from the DDG(X) program to ensure significant striking power and battle management.
