US Soldiers Conduct CROWS Training Near North Korean Border
DEFENSE
On January 28-29, 2026, soldiers from the 84th Ordnance Company participated in live-fire training near the North Korean border at Story Live Fire Complex, South Korea, focusing on the Common Remotely Operated Weapon Station (CROWS). The training involved firing M249 and M240B weapons from armored vehicles, enhancing crew protection by reducing exposure to enemy fire.
The exercise was part of routine training aimed at improving operational readiness and followed a previous CROWS familiarization session three months earlier. CROWS systems, with over 12,000 units supplied by Kongsberg, have been in use since 2004, with contracts worth tens of millions annually.
