US Universities Supply Cadavers to Navy for Israeli Military Training
The US Navy has been purchasing cadavers from the University of Southern California (USC) for training Israeli military personnel. Since 2017, over $1 million has been spent on cadavers, raising ethical concerns about consent and military use.

The US Navy has spent over $1 million on cadavers from the University of Southern California (USC) for training purposes related to the Israeli military. Since 2017, USC has been contracted to supply bodies for trauma surgery training under an agreement with the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).
In addition, the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) transferred approximately 124 bodies to USC for this purpose between 2024 and early 2026. Reports indicate that bodies may have been used without informed consent, raising ethical questions. The Navy intends to renew contracts with USC until at least 2029, furthering concerns about the implications of using donated bodies for military training.
