USA Rare Earth to Acquire Serra Verde for $2.8 Billion

USA Rare Earth (USAR) intends to acquire Serra Verde Group for $2.8 billion, positioning itself among few non-Chinese producers of heavy rare earth metals. The acquisition announcement on April 20 resulted in a 13% stock increase for USAR, reaching $22.58 per share.
Serra Verde owns the Pela Ema mine, the only site outside Asia producing all four key rare earth metals essential for magnets: neodymium, praseodymium, dysprosium, and terbium. The mine has a projected lifespan of 25 years, with potential to double production.
