USACE Jacksonville District to Dredge Palm Beach Harbor for Mid-Town Beach Renourishment Project
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Jacksonville District will initiate dredging at Palm Beach Harbor for a Federal beach renourishment project at Mid-Town Beach. The operation will utilize material from the harbor's entrance channel and settling basins as part of a Coastal Storm Risk Management project. The $20 million contract was awarded to Great Lakes Dredge and Dock, with an expected removal of 100,000 to 150,000 cubic yards of sand. Dredging is scheduled to last 30 days, with completion required by April 30 to protect sea turtle nesting.
