USACE Mobile District Completes FEMA Recovery Projects in Selma, Alabama
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, finished two key recovery projects for FEMA in Selma, Alabama. A pre-engineered warehouse was completed by June 10, 2025, and roof repairs on the main administrative building were finalized on November 6, 2025. These projects were initiated after an EF-2 tornado struck Selma on January 12, 2023, causing substantial damage. The improvements enhance the operational capacity and resilience of the FEMA site for future emergencies.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District, has completed two recovery projects for FEMA in Selma, Alabama, following an EF-2 tornado on January 12, 2023. A 12,000-square-foot pre-engineered warehouse was finalized on June 10, 2025, built to endure wind speeds up to 115 mph, with construction awarded to Southeast Cherokee Construction, Inc.
Additionally, major roof repairs on FEMA’s main administrative building were completed on November 6, 2025, managed by Vanguard Pacific Inc. These projects restore and fortify FEMA's operations in Selma, ensuring readiness for future emergencies.
