USAF Thunderbirds Conduct Winter Training for 2026 Airshow Season in New Mexico and California
The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds are conducting winter training at Spaceport America in New Mexico in preparation for the 2026 airshow season, with additional sessions planned at Edwards Air Force Base and Naval Air Facility El Centro in California. The training involves approximately 70 team members and nine F-16 aircraft, and follows recent practice maneuvers at Travis Air Force Base. This training coincides with preparations by the Naval Flight Demonstration Squadron and the U.S. Army Golden Knights for their upcoming performances.
