The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds are training at Spaceport America in New Mexico to prepare for the 2026 airshow season. The squadron arrived in early January, with future training planned at Edwards Air Force Base and Naval Air Facility El Centro in California.
Approximately 70 team members and nine F-16 aircraft are involved in the training. Recently, the squadron practiced maneuvers at Travis Air Force Base in California for an upcoming show. The Thunderbirds' training coincides with the Naval Flight Demonstration Squadron and the U.S. Army Golden Knights, both of which are also preparing for this year's performances.
