Uttar Pradesh Enhances Airport Infrastructure Across Six Cities
Uttar Pradesh is advancing its airport infrastructure with significant projects in Gorakhpur, Agra, Kanpur, Aligarh, Moradabad, and Shravasti. This expansion aims to improve air connectivity, promoting tourism, industry, and employment opportunities in the region.

The Uttar Pradesh government is enhancing air connectivity through airport expansions and new terminal constructions in six cities. Gorakhpur Airport will develop a new civil terminal after an MoU for 42.14 acres of Indian Air Force land was signed in June 2025; currently, it operates an average of 12 flights.
Agra Airport’s terminal construction is 60% complete, utilizing 52 acres of land with an additional 92.50 acres acquired. Kanpur Airport has inaugurated a new civil terminal at a cost of ₹150 crore, currently operating four flights.
Aligarh Airport's expansion involves acquiring 275.74 hectares, with ₹738.60 crore approved. Moradabad's airstrip development was completed in 2024, while Shravasti Airport's expansion is progressing with 218 hectares acquired out of 226.75 hectares required. This initiative is expected to drive economic growth and regional development.
