Uttar Pradesh Expands Civil Aviation Infrastructure with New Terminals
Uttar Pradesh is advancing its civil aviation sector with significant expansions and new terminals across several airports. These developments aim to enhance regional connectivity, stimulate economic growth, and promote tourism and investment in the state.

Uttar Pradesh's government is actively enhancing its civil aviation infrastructure, focusing on new airport terminals and expansions across Gorakhpur, Agra, Kanpur, Aligarh, Moradabad, and Shravasti. A new civil terminal is under development at Gorakhpur Airport following an MoU signed in June 2025 for 42.14 acres of land transfer from the Indian Air Force.
The Agra Airport terminal construction has reached 60% completion, with land acquisition totaling 144.50 acres. Kanpur Airport's new terminal, inaugurated with 50 acres of land at ₹150 crore, currently hosts four flights, with a proposal for additional land under review.
Aligarh’s expansion project has a budget of ₹738.60 crore for 275.74 hectares, while Moradabad's upgrade is in technical planning stages. Shravasti Airport’s expansion is also in progress with 218 hectares acquired. This civil aviation push is expected to create jobs and foster economic development in the region.
