Uttar Pradesh Ganga Expressway Nears Completion with 594 km Connectivity
The Ganga Expressway in Uttar Pradesh is nearing completion with over 95% of construction done as of January. The 594-km expressway will connect Meerut to Prayagraj and cost approximately Rs 37,350 crore.
Major components are completed, including 1,498 structures. The project aims to reduce travel time from 12 hours to 6 hours, allowing speeds up to 120 km/h. The expressway includes 23 toll plazas, 126 minor bridges, and 28 flyovers.
It features a 3.5-km emergency landing facility tested by the Indian Air Force. Partnerships with ETH Zurich and RTDT Laboratories AG will implement AI for monitoring road quality. Phase-2 extensions approved in January 2025 will add 453 km.
