The Rishikesh-Karanprayag rail project is nearing completion, with Uttarakhand's government converting safety escape tunnels into parallel roads. This decision, supported by CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, aims to enhance infrastructure utilization, improve tourism, and bolster national security.
The new roads will facilitate safer travel for pilgrims and locals, especially during emergencies like landslides. Additionally, there are plans to extend the rail line to Bageshwar.
