VAG Nürnberg Advocates for Grants in Electric Bus Expansion
VAG Nürnberg is expanding its electric bus fleet, with 123 buses operational and 21 more expected this year. Tim Dahlmann-Resing emphasizes the need for funding support for all operators investing in electric buses to ensure wider electrification across Germany's public transport system.

VAG Nürnberg operates 123 electric buses and plans to add 21 more this year, aiming for 75% fleet electrification. Tim Dahlmann-Resing advocates for comprehensive funding, stating that any operator applying for electric buses should receive a grant.
Current funding mechanisms are deemed unfair, favoring some companies over others and hindering transition efforts. He opposes hydrogen for urban transport, citing inefficiency and instead highlights advancements in battery technology that enable ranges over 350 kilometers.
VAG has optimized its infrastructure by converting a staff car park into an e-bus depot, creating 40 additional parking spaces. The company targets full electrification of its fleet by the early 2030s, contingent on consistent funding support.
