Valve Alerts Customers of Data Breach Linked to CEVA Logistics Cyberattack
A cyberattack on CEVA Logistics affected Steam hardware customers in Europe, exposing personal data. Valve is urging vigilance against potential phishing attacks following the incident.

Between July 29 and August 1, 2026, CEVA Logistics, responsible for shipping Steam hardware in Europe, suffered a cyberattack. Valve informed affected customers on August 7 that their personal details, linked to hardware orders, may have been compromised.
CEVA has taken measures to isolate impacted systems and is collaborating with external investigators while notifying data protection authorities. Customers who ordered in the last 100 days are advised to be cautious of phishing attempts. Notably, sensitive information such as payment details and passwords were not accessed during the breach, mitigating the potential impact on customer security.
