VDL Groep has acquired Sintecs, an electronics design specialist based in Hengelo, to enhance its electronics capabilities and expand its comprehensive service offerings. This acquisition adds a team of 75 and a portfolio that includes complex digital electronics design, production support, and cybersecurity products under the Scalys brand.

The acquisition aims to strengthen VDL's competencies in electronics development and production support, improving coordination between design and manufacturing processes. Sintecs' expertise in signal integrity analysis and system validation is particularly valuable for VDL's high-tech and defense programs.

The acquisition follows VDL's previous expansions with TBP Electronics in 2020 and Rena Elektronica in 2023, with an expectation of greater collaboration among these entities. Sintecs will continue to operate as a technology partner within VDL, contributing to integrated electronics projects and enhancing VDL's role as a comprehensive industrial partner.
