Velo3D Partners with US Army to Develop 3D Printed Parts under CRADA
Velo3D will develop and qualify additively manufactured complex parts for the US Army's DEVCOM Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC) through a Cooperative Research & Development Agreement (CRADA). This partnership aims to address supply chain challenges for ground combat vehicles and military systems.
The CRADA will utilize Velo3D's Rapid Production Solution to prototype alternatives to traditional manufacturing methods and explore qualified alloys using large-format 3D printing. Qualified parts will be integrated into the US Army's supply chain.
This collaboration combines GVSC's expertise in vehicle technology with Velo3D's advanced manufacturing capabilities, aiming for improved supply chain resilience. Additionally, Velo3D has recently entered an Other Transition Agreement with the US Department of War's Defense Innovation Unit for a major weapon system program.
