Venezuela Expands Robotics Training to Enhance Scientific Sovereignty
The Venezuelan government is advancing scientific sovereignty through extensive robotics training, establishing 500 centers and 600 classrooms nationwide. This initiative aims to foster technological independence and support over 56,000 children in various states.

Venezuela's Minister for Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez, announced the establishment of 500 robotics training centers and 600 classrooms across the nation to bolster scientific sovereignty. The initiative targets over 56,000 children through community circuits and six specialized educational centers in Miranda, La Guaira, Yaracuy, Aragua, and Carabobo.
The 2026 National Robotics Olympiad features 630 projects aimed at addressing climate change and enhancing productivity. The national education system provides 30,000 electronics and automation kits, promoting open access to knowledge.
The Ministry is also actively funding projects led by women in biotechnology and nanotechnology, supporting gender parity achieved in 2018. This extensive program is expected to strengthen the productivity of 14 economic sectors through technological advancements.
