Venezuela's Military Academies Undergo Leadership Changes to Enhance Training and Adapt to New Realities
Venezuelan military academies are undergoing leadership changes aimed at enhancing training and adapting to modern challenges, as emphasized by General Vladimir Padrino López during the handover at the Bolivarian Military University of Venezuela. These reforms, part of the Ayacucho Plan, focus on updating educational approaches to produce socially aware military personnel and strengthen the Bolivarian National Armed Forces amid evolving warfare dynamics. Padrino López also referenced Venezuela's role in testing new weapons during recent U.S. military actions, underscoring the need for continuity in development policies.

General Vladimir Padrino López emphasized the need to enhance the study programs at the Bolivarian Military University of Venezuela (UMBV) during the handover of military academy leadership. He stated that these changes are part of the Ayacucho Plan and aim to strengthen military training within the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB).
Padrino López highlighted the transformation initiated by President Nicolás Maduro and the importance of adapting to new challenges, including the impact of technology on warfare. He urged a review of educational approaches to ensure the UMBV produces socially aware individuals rather than solely combat soldiers.
He also claimed that Venezuela was a testing ground for new weapons during U.S. military aggression in January 2026, calling for the return of Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, to Venezuela. The changes in command are intended to maintain continuity in development policies and enhance the FANB's capabilities.
