Venture Global Secures $8.6B Financing for Louisiana LNG CP2 Expansion Project
Venture Global has taken a final investment decision on an $8.6 billion expansion of its CP2 liquefied natural gas export facility in Cameron Parish, Louisiana. This second phase will increase the facility's capacity to 29 million tonnes per annum.
The expansion is supported by financing from a consortium of global banks including Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, and Barclays. Venture Global has long-term sales agreements in place primarily with customers in Europe and Asia, contributing to a total contracted capacity exceeding 49 mtpa across its three projects. The overall financing for the CP2 project totals approximately $20.7 billion, marking a significant investment in the US LNG market, with first shipments anticipated by 2027.
