Vietnam and Cambodia Strengthen Defence Cooperation in Chemical and Military Sectors
On December 23, Sen. Lieut. Gen.
Phung Sy Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, met with Gen. Phorn Nara, Secretary General of Cambodia's CBRNE Authority, in Hanoi. This meeting is part of the 2015 defense cooperation plan between the two nations.
Tan acknowledged the progress in defense ties, including high-level delegations and cooperation in border management and military training. He noted the success of the recent Vietnam-Cambodia border defense friendship exchange as a significant step in fostering collaboration among military and local authorities.
Phorn Nara conveyed greetings from Cambodia's Deputy Prime Minister and briefed Tan on his discussions with the VPA's Chemical Corps. Tan emphasized the importance of the chemical sector and called for enhanced exchanges and coordination between the two countries' defense sectors.
