Vietnam and China to Conduct Border Defence Friendship Exchange in March 2026

DEFENSE

A Border Defence Friendship Exchange between Vietnam and China is scheduled for mid-March 2026. The event aims to enhance cooperation and friendship among border protection forces, local authorities, and communities.

The Vietnam People's Navy will dispatch two frigates for joint training and patrols with the People's Liberation Army Navy in the Gulf of Tonkin. Ceremonies will occur at border gates, including tree-planting and the establishment of a medical station.

From March 12 to 16, military medical teams will provide free services to around 500 residents in border areas. Additionally, 100 scholarships and 50 breeding cows will be donated to support disadvantaged households.
