Vietnam National Assembly Approves Vinh-Thanh Thuy Expressway and Gia Binh International Airport Projects
The Vietnam National Assembly has approved several key infrastructure projects, including the Vinh-Thanh Thuy Expressway, which will connect Hanoi to Vientiane, Laos, with a budget of VND23.94 trillion and construction set to begin in 2026. Additionally, the assembly greenlit the Gia Binh International Airport project in Bac Ninh Province, aimed at accommodating 50 million passengers annually by 2050, with an investment of VND196.38 trillion, supporting both civilian and defense needs.

The National Assembly of Vietnam has approved six resolutions, including one for the Vinh-Thanh Thuy Expressway project linking Hanoi to Vientiane, Laos. This expressway, covering approximately 60 kilometers in Nghe An Province, has a total investment of VND23.94 trillion (US$949 million) and is set to begin construction in 2026, with completion expected in 2029.
Additionally, the National Assembly approved the development of Gia Binh International Airport in Bac Ninh Province, which will serve both civilian and defense purposes and support the 2027 APEC Summit. The airport project spans nearly 1,885 hectares, targets a capacity of 50 million passengers per year by 2050, and has an estimated investment of VND196.38 trillion (US$7.5 billion). Other resolutions address citizen complaint handling, IT management in petitions, and regulations for procuracy officials.
