Vietnam's Submarine HQ-186 Da Nang Returns Home After Two-Month Voyage from Russia
Submarine HQ-186 Da Nang of the Vietnam People's Navy returned to Cam Ranh on February 5, 2016, after a nearly two-month voyage from Russia. As the fifth of six Kilo-class submarines ordered from Russia, it enhances Vietnam's maritime security capabilities. The submarine's crew completed rigorous training and operational missions, achieving high levels of proficiency and safety from 2016 to 2026, receiving multiple recognitions for excellence.

On February 5, 2016, submarine HQ-186 Da Nang of the Vietnam People's Navy docked at Cam Ranh after a nearly two-month journey from Russia. It is the fifth of six Varshavyanka 636.1-class submarines ordered in 2009.
With a displacement of 3,000-3,950 tonnes and a length of 74 meters, it can dive to 300 meters. The submarine has been pivotal in enhancing Vietnam's maritime security, completing extensive training and operational missions from 2016 to 2026. The crew, trained under challenging conditions, achieved high proficiency, receiving numerous accolades for their performance and maintaining safety standards throughout.
