Vietnam's Tech Sector Receives Support for Strategic Development
Vietnam's government, represented by Deputy Prime Minister Hồ Quốc Dũng, is working with local tech firms Zalo Platforms and Real-Time Robotics to enhance their technological capabilities. The focus is on establishing robust policies to foster large-scale domestic tech enterprises capable of competing internationally, particularly in AI and UAV sectors.

On May 7, Deputy Prime Minister Hồ Quốc Dũng met with Zalo Platforms and Real-Time Robotics in Ho Chi Minh City to discuss enhancing local tech capabilities. The government aims to create policies that support the growth of Vietnamese tech firms, which currently contribute only 0.6% to the $80 billion tech export sector.
Zalo has invested nearly 1,000 billion VND in AI since 2017, with limited revenue thus far. Real-Time Robotics projects revenues of up to $80 million by 2028 with current R&D investment at $3 million annually. The government is urged to implement tax incentives and infrastructure support to stimulate innovation and retain talent in the competitive global market.
