Vikram Solar Proposes ₹27,000 Crore Investment for Clean Energy Hub in Bengal
Vikram Solar aims to invest ₹27,000 crore in Bengal, creating 12,000 green jobs and establishing a major clean energy manufacturing hub. This project is positioned to enhance India's renewable energy landscape significantly.

Vikram Solar has proposed a ₹27,000 crore investment to establish a comprehensive solar manufacturing ecosystem in Bengal, potentially generating 12,000 green jobs. The company plans to develop a facility covering the entire solar value chain, including ingots, wafers, solar cells, and photovoltaic modules, requiring approximately 700 acres of land.
A meeting request has been sent to the state's chief minister for discussions on this initiative, which is currently in the proposal stage and contingent upon government approval. The project follows Vikram Solar's IPO status achieved in 2025 and is expected to bolster the state's economy and renewable energy goals. However, experts have noted that land availability may pose challenges to the project's realization.
