Virginia National Guard Soldiers from the 29th Infantry Division participated in Operation Karelian Spear in Finland from Nov. 28 to Dec. 4, 2025. The exercise involved the Finnish Karelian Brigade and NATO partners, supporting the State Partnership Program with Finland.

The training included simulated warfighting exercises and tactical troop observations, with the Virginia contingent integrated into the Finnish 4th Army Corps Headquarters.
