Viridien and SLB Partner with EGAS for Eastern Mediterranean Seismic Acquisition Project
Viridien and SLB have partnered with the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) to launch a multi-client ocean bottom node seismic acquisition project in Egypt's Eastern Mediterranean, marking the largest initiative of its kind in the region. The program aims to generate a detailed subsurface dataset to enhance exploration and production opportunities, reinforcing Egypt's position as a regional energy hub. Data acquisition is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2026.

Viridien and SLB have signed an agreement with the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) to initiate a multi-client ocean bottom node (OBN) seismic acquisition and imaging program in Egypt's Eastern Mediterranean offshore. This project, the largest of its kind in the region, aims to provide a comprehensive subsurface dataset to assist explorers and investors in understanding the area's complex geology and in identifying new exploration and production opportunities.
The dataset, available through a multi-client model, is intended to bolster Egypt's role as a regional energy hub. Data acquisition is set to commence in the first quarter of 2026.
