Vitol and Camuzzi Sign MoU for $3.9 Billion LNG Project in Argentina
Camuzzi Gas Inversora and Vitol have signed a memorandum of understanding for the LNG del Plata project in Argentina, involving a potential investment of $3.9 billion over 20 years. This project aims to elevate Argentina's role in the global LNG market, leveraging its resources from the Vaca Muerta formation to achieve a production capacity of at least 2.4 million tons annually.

Camuzzi Gas Inversora and Vitol have established a memorandum of understanding for the LNG del Plata project, with anticipated investments totaling $3.9 billion over the next 20 years. The initiative, located at the Port of La Plata, aims to export liquefied natural gas while enhancing domestic supply, especially during winter months.
The project plans to utilize existing gas infrastructure, aiming for a production capacity of 2.4 million tons per year. It is expected to create approximately 500 direct jobs and generate over $14.5 billion in foreign exchange during its operational life. Regulatory approvals and financial engineering are pending to expedite the project, which could significantly improve Argentina's energy security and export capabilities.
