Vitol Partners with Camuzzi on LNG Export Project in Argentina
Vitol has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Camuzzi Gas Inversora to develop the LNG Del Plata project, which aims to export 2.4 MTPA of liquefied natural gas. This partnership enhances Argentina's position in the global LNG market, leveraging its shale gas reserves from Vaca Muerta.

Vitol and Camuzzi Gas Inversora have initiated a partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding for the LNG Del Plata project, targeting a production capacity of 2.4 MTPA. The project, located near La Plata, Buenos Aires, will involve a liquefaction vessel and a subsea pipeline connected to existing infrastructure.
Infrastructure investments are estimated at $3.9 billion over 20 years, with operations expected to start between 2027 and 2028. By capitalizing on the abundant shale gas reserves of Vaca Muerta, this initiative aims to establish Argentina as a competitive global LNG supplier. The partnership is crucial for securing financing, as long-term offtake agreements are essential for project viability.
