Vizag Hospitals Launch Solar Projects to Enhance Green Healthcare
Two hospitals in Visakhapatnam inaugurated 100 kW rooftop solar systems, part of AMNS India's initiative to reduce energy costs and carbon footprints in healthcare facilities.

On July 25, 100 kW rooftop solar power projects were inaugurated at the Government Mental Care Hospital and Visakha Institute of Medical Sciences. Each hospital received a 50 kW capacity system to help lower electricity costs and promote renewable energy use.
This initiative is part of AMNS India's broader program to transition government medical facilities in Visakhapatnam to clean energy, following previous installations at King George Hospital (120 kW) and Victoria Hospital (80 kW) completed in 2025. A 50 kW project at RCD Hospital is also in progress.
The transition to solar energy is expected to significantly reduce operational costs and carbon emissions. This move represents a critical step towards sustainable healthcare infrastructure in the region.
