W5 Technologies has introduced the Mighty MUOSe™, a lightweight and energy-efficient MUOS extender designed to provide persistent communication coverage for military operations. This prototype enables connectivity even when traditional satellites are offline or unreachable, particularly in challenging environments like polar regions and mountainous terrain.

The development was prompted by a U.S. Navy SBIR topic focused on improving MUOS coverage over the North Pole. W5 Technologies aims to enhance reliable communications for warfighters by effectively positioning satellite coverage closer to them. The company also produces the Mighty MUOOS™, a tool for testing communications systems before deployment.
