Waaree Energies Launches 10 GW Solar Ingot and Wafer Manufacturing Facility in Nagpur
Waaree Energies Limited has commenced construction on a 10 GW integrated solar ingot and wafer manufacturing facility in Butibori, Nagpur, Maharashtra. The project, with an investment of INR 62 billion, aims to enhance domestic production and reduce reliance on imports. Once operational, it is expected to create over 8,000 jobs and contribute to local economic growth. The facility will cover 300 acres and is positioned to strengthen India's solar manufacturing ecosystem.

It aims to produce high-purity solar ingots and wafers, critical components in the solar photovoltaic value chain, with the goal of reducing import dependence. The project is expected to generate over 8,000 direct and indirect jobs and foster economic development in the region. The facility is set to significantly enhance India's upstream solar manufacturing capacity.
