Warrington Launches Solar Panel and Battery Storage Group-Buying Initiative
The Switch Together scheme in Warrington reopens for registrations, aiming to assist residents in adopting renewable energy solutions. This initiative facilitates cost-effective installations of solar panels, battery storage, and EV charging points, addressing rising energy costs for households.

The Switch Together initiative will reopen for registrations on August 3, 2023, and will close on September 25, 2023. This program, facilitated by Warrington Borough Council in partnership with Cheshire East and Cheshire West and Chester Councils, has previously supported 190 households in Warrington.
Through a reverse auction with pre-vetted installers, the scheme aims to provide competitive pricing for solar panels and battery storage installations. Additionally, it includes options for households already equipped with solar panels to enhance their energy efficiency.
The council continues to manage significant solar farm investments, generating approximately £2.4 million in dividends and supporting the local climate strategy, including an electric bus program. While the energy market remains volatile, the council maintains its solar assets as long-term investments.
