WavEC Offshore Renewables has released ORIOM (Offshore Renewables Installation and O&M), an open-source Python-based modeling tool designed to simulate installation and operations & maintenance logistics and costs for offshore renewable energy projects. ORIOM supports various technologies such as fixed-bottom offshore wind, floating wind, wave energy, and floating solar. Developed over the past decade and published under the PolyForm Shield License 1.0.0, ORIOM aims to improve transparency and peer review in the analysis of offshore energy projects, addressing the often-overlooked costs of installation and maintenance.
