Western Cape Seeks Flood Relief Donations Amid Crisis
The Western Cape Department of Social Development urges donations to support NPOs responding to severe flooding. Over 3,600 individuals have been displaced, highlighting the urgent need for humanitarian assistance in the region.

The Western Cape Department of Social Development is calling for donations to assist non-profit organizations engaged in flood relief efforts. Currently, 3,628 individuals have been displaced in the region, with 85,512 people affected across 22,146 homes in the City of Cape Town.
Five organizations funded by DSD—Mustadafin Foundation, The Salvation Army, Community Chest of the Western Cape, Al-Imdaad Foundation, and For Afrika—are providing essential support, including blankets and meals. However, the influx of affected households has strained resources, and some areas remain inaccessible due to damaged infrastructure.
Working on Fire is facilitating airlifts of supplies to these regions. The situation necessitates immediate action from the public and businesses to ensure continued aid.
