Westmag Motors Secures $11M to Establish Domestic Motor Production for Drones and Robotics
Westmag Motors aims to produce over 30 million motors annually by 2030, addressing the U.S. reliance on foreign manufacturing. Their investment in domestic supply chains responds to regulatory changes and increasing demand in the drone and robotics sectors.

Westmag Motors has launched with $11 million in seed funding to create a domestic supply of motors and actuators for drones and robotics, targeting over 30 million units annually by 2030. The company is ramping production at its South San Francisco facility, fulfilling orders of hundreds of thousands of units while investing in upstream component manufacturing to control costs and enhance reliability.
Recent FCC regulations banning foreign drone components emphasize the urgency for domestic solutions. As U.S. demand for high-performance motors significantly outpaces current production, Westmag's manufacturing capabilities could alleviate supply chain vulnerabilities, fostering innovation in the robotics and defense sectors.
