Whisper Aero and Mach Industries Partner for Drone Development Using JetFoil Technology
Whisper Aero partners with Mach Industries to advance drone capabilities for the Defense Innovation Unit's RIMES program. Their JetFoil technology aims to enable runway-independent operations and enhanced payload capacities for military applications.

Whisper Aero has partnered with Mach Industries to implement its JetFoil technology in the Defense Innovation Unit's RIMES program, targeting drones capable of carrying fighter-class armaments. The JetFoil system, utilizing ducted fans along the wing's leading edge, is designed to provide high lift, low drag, and is claimed to be stall-proof, maintaining lift even at low speeds.
Whisper is currently collaborating with U.S. Air Force, Navy, and NASA to validate the JetFoil for military applications, with flight tests for prototype aircraft expected in 2027. The technology could also be adapted for urban and regional air mobility, indicating potential future commercial applications. Successful integration may offer increased operational flexibility and enhanced logistics capabilities for military operations.
