WHOOP Secures U.S. Navy Contract for Wearable Technology Integration
WHOOP has been awarded a contract by MIT Lincoln Laboratory, sponsored by the U.S. Navy, to provide wearables for evaluating crew readiness and fatigue management. This contract follows the cancellation of Oura's $96 million DoD contract due to a procurement challenge from WHOOP.

WHOOP will integrate its wearable technology into the U.S. Navy's Command Readiness, Endurance, and Watchstanding (CREW) program to assess crew members' readiness and fatigue. This contract comes after WHOOP contested a previous $96 million deal awarded to Oura, resulting in its cancellation.
Despite this setback, Oura maintains a partnership with the DoD, including a new manufacturing facility in Texas set to become operational by 2026. WHOOP's recent growth includes a $575 million Series G funding round, elevating its valuation to $10.1 billion. Additionally, WHOOP faces FDA scrutiny regarding its Blood Pressure Insights feature, classified as a medical device under federal law.
