Wisconsin Manufacturers Secure $67.6M in Federal Defense Contracts
Clarios and Oshkosh Defense received multi-million-dollar contracts from the U.S. Department of War for military support. These contracts are crucial for enhancing defense capabilities across multiple branches of the U.S. military.

Clarios has been awarded a $48.5 million contract to supply 6-volt and 12-volt batteries to the Army, Navy, and Marine Corps, effective from 2026 to 2029. This follows a $46.8 million contract awarded in January 2026 for similar products.
Oshkosh Defense received a $19.1 million contract for wheel and tire assemblies, also spanning from 2026 to 2029. Previously, Oshkosh Defense announced a $214 million contract in February 2025 for military vehicle manufacturing, with multiple active contracts ending between 2026 and 2027.
In 2024, they secured a five-year contract worth $1.54 billion for heavy tactical vehicles, extending operations to 2031. These contracts bolster the defense supply chain and indicate ongoing military procurement needs.
