Woodfibre LNG Project Receives Two Large Modules from China
The Woodfibre LNG project in Squamish, British Columbia, has received two large modules from China, bringing the total delivered to 14 out of 19. The pretreatment module, weighing approximately 12,300 metric tonnes, is crucial for contaminant removal, while the process utility module aids in emissions management. This delivery signifies that construction is nearing 60% completion, with five additional modules expected in the coming months.

Two large modules, the pretreatment module and the process utility module, arrived at the Woodfibre LNG facility in Squamish, British Columbia, marking modules 13 and 14 of a total of 19. Built at the QMW McDermott Fabrication Yard in Qingdao, China, the pretreatment module weighs approximately 12,300 metric tonnes and is essential for removing contaminants before liquefaction.
It features systems for cooling, heating, and thermal oxidation. The process utility module supports the LNG process and assists in emissions management. The delivery indicates that construction progress is nearing 60% completion.
The modules were transported on the HTV Seaway Swan, a specialized semi-submersible vessel acquired by Seaway7 in 2022, capable of handling larger cargoes. Five additional modules are expected to arrive in the coming months.
