Woodside Energy's Scarborough FPU Arrives at Western Australia Gas Project Site
Woodside Energy Group Ltd has announced the arrival of the floating production unit (FPU) for the Scarborough Energy Project at its offshore site in Western Australia, with the project 91% complete as of Q3 2025. The FPU, weighing 70,000 metric tons and equipped with emissions-reduction systems, will support the development of the Scarborough gas field and Pluto Train 2, aiming for first LNG cargo later this year. The project is expected to generate over A$55 billion in taxes and supply 225 terajoules of gas daily to the local market.

Woodside Energy Group Ltd announced the arrival of the floating production unit (FPU) for the Scarborough Energy Project at its offshore site in Western Australia. The project includes the Scarborough gas field development and construction of Pluto Train 2, aiming for first LNG cargo in the second half of this year.
As of Q3 2025, the project was 91% complete. The FPU, weighing 70,000 metric tons and built by McDermott International, will process gas and features emissions-reduction systems. The project is expected to contribute over A$55 billion in taxes and supply 225 terajoules of gas daily to the Western Australian market. Woodside operates the project with a 74.9% stake, alongside JERA and LNG Japan.
