Woolworths Group's Moorebank RDC Nominated for Most Sustainable Warehouse Award
Woolworths Group's Moorebank Regional Distribution Centre in Western Sydney has been nominated for the Most Sustainable Warehouse award, with the winner to be announced at MegaTrans. The $1.3 billion precinct includes the new RDC and National Distribution Centre, designed to move over five million cartons weekly to over 1,000 stores across Australia. The facilities feature a 5-star Green Star rating, solar power, and rainwater harvesting, aiming for a 35% reduction in operational emissions. The project created over 1,300 construction jobs and employs around 800 ongoing staff.

Woolworths Group's Moorebank Regional Distribution Centre (RDC) has been nominated for the Most Sustainable Warehouse award. The $1.3 billion logistics precinct in Western Sydney includes the RDC and a National Distribution Centre (NDC), facilitating the movement of over five million cartons weekly to more than 1,000 stores.
Both facilities cover 75,000 square metres and have achieved a 5-star Green Star rating. Key sustainability features include solar power expected to generate 5.3 megawatts annually, rainwater harvesting, and a direct rail connection, anticipated to remove 23,000 truck movements annually. The project generated over 1,300 jobs during construction and will employ around 800 staff.
