Wuzhong's First Distributed Synchronous Condensers Connected to Grid for Photovoltaic Power Station
On February 8, 2026, two distributed synchronous condensers for the Wuzhong No. 64 Photovoltaic Power Station were successfully connected to the grid. This development enhances the power grid's voltage support capacity and stability while accommodating renewable energy. The condensers have a capacity of 20 Mvar and feature dynamic responses and strong reactive power regulation. The project ensures optimal power quality and reduces equipment disconnection risks due to fluctuations.

Two distributed synchronous condensers supporting the Wuzhong No. 64 Photovoltaic Power Station were connected to the grid on February 8, 2026. The condensers, with a capacity of 20 Mvar, enhance voltage support and grid stability.
State Grid Wuzhong Power Supply Company oversaw the project, ensuring compliance through rigorous testing and verification processes. The system demonstrated stable operation during a 168-hour trial, successfully passing grid acceptance tests. This initiative will improve the power grid's capacity to integrate renewable energy, optimize power quality, and enhance operational reliability.
