Xpeng G7 Hybrid SUV Achieves 1,058-Mile Range, Competes with Tesla in EV Market

SYNTHETIC FUELS

Xpeng Motors has launched the G7 hybrid SUV, which boasts a range of 1,058 miles on a single tank and charge, positioning it as a significant competitor in the electric vehicle market. The G7 combines a gasoline engine with electric propulsion, achieving over 1,000 miles without refueling under China's CLTC testing cycle.

It offers a 430 km pure-electric range and extends to 1,704 km in total range conditions. This launch comes as hybrids gain popularity in China, addressing consumers' range concerns. Comparatively, Tesla's Model Y Long Range RWD offers 821 km on the same cycle.

Xpeng's G7 is designed for efficiency with rapid charging capabilities and advanced battery management. As Xpeng aims for international expansion, the G7 could influence EV standards globally, challenging Tesla's market position and prompting discussions on hybrid versus all-electric vehicles.
